Blog Tour, Giveaway: Dead Running and Dying to Run

Blog Tour and Giveaway

Two New Books by Cami Checketts

Dead Running

Cassidy Christensen is running. Running from the mercenaries who killed her parents. Running from a scheming redhead intent on making her life miserable. Running from painful memories that sabotage her dreams of happiness.

With two very tempting men competing for her attention, she hopes she'll finally have someone to run to, but can she trust either of them? When secrets from her past threaten her family, Cassidy decides to stop running and fight for her future.

Dying to Run

Cassidy Christensen wants to run.

Captured by the traffickers who killed her mother, her only hope is Dr. Tattoo, a man she loves but nobody trusts. When she finally gets a chance to run, someone else she cares about is taken. Running might be her only chance at survival, but she won’t allow another family member to be killed in her place.

This must-read sequel to Dead Running will have you laughing, biting your nails, and hoping for more.

My review: Cassidy's on the run from enemies, both known and unknown. She lives with her spunky Nana, whose practicality and wisdom, coupled with a good dose of humor, help to keep her granddaughter grounded and focused. Savvy Nana also comes through in a crisis and never lets us down. Cassidy faces real dangers - and in this installment of her story, those dangers are in the form of powerful, ruthless men involved in human trafficking. Without help from friends, both known and unknown, Cassity won't live to face her next challenge. Fast-paced, with snappy dialogue and plenty of action, this is a quick and enjoyable read. I definitely want to follow Cassidy's journey.

What are the titles in this series, and when will the next one be released?

Dead Running and Dying to Run are my most recent releases. They are a series and I'm hoping to have another short sequel out next spring.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

I have nightmares. Really awful nightmares. The opening scenes of both books were nightmares and then the rest just comes to me as I brainstorm on runs, in the shower, while I'm cooking, pretty much anytime my boys don't need my complete attention!

What genre does your book fall under?

Clean romantic comedy with a load of suspense. Wow, that is not a genre but it describes the book pretty well.

What is the best compliment you could receive from a reader?

Readers are so great. I absolutely love the emails, messages on Facebook, and sweet reviews they post on Amazon or Goodreads. Just knowing they enjoyed the book motivates me to keep writing and improving my writing.

What is the best thing about being an author?
Meeting people. Whether it be the new friends telling me stories in my head or the new friends I meet at a book signing, speaking engagement, or online. I love people and I love hearing (and sometimes sharing) their stories.
Tell us a little about your book, Dying to Run
Dying to Run is the short sequel to Dead Running. My editor gave me the idea of having more, “Cassie and Jesse adventures,” and I really liked it. It was fun to write Cassidy again as she is hilarious to me.
